- Georgia Student Scholarship Organizations

- This is the scholarship program approved last year for
individuals and corporations to make contributions to a
Georgia Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) which in turn
makes tuition scholarships available to students attending
private schools in Georgia. This is a dollar for dollar
match against their Georgia Income Tax.

- The Calendar of Events for this year's Fine Arts Competition
has been uploaded. Here we go with a new year of
competition!
- Fine Arts Prelims Date Change

- The date for Jr/Sr High Preliminary competition in the
upcoming school year has been changed to *Saturday, February
20*. Please be sure to make the change on your school
calendars!
- Georgia Ranks 4th at AACS National Fine Arts Competition!

- Georgia's students had another GREAT year of competition at
the AACS National Fine Arts Festival. The event was held
April 14-16 at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, and
nearly 2,000 students traveled from 33 states across the
country to participate. To see the full list of award
winners, click here. Performances from two of Georgia's
winners were featured in the closing awards program. Mabel
Valdez from Open Bible Christian School in Valdosta
delivered her 1st place Humorous Interpretation, and Killian
Hill Christian School in Lilburn's Choric Speaking team
performed their winning piece.
- Georgia Department of Revenue Adopts "Qualified Education Expense Credit"

- On July 1, 2008, the Georgia Legislature enacted a program
that allows corporations and taxpayers to contribute a
portion of their state income tax liabillty to a qualified
student scholarship organization, designate the funds for a
qualified private school, and receive a tax credit.
